Having a shy child at a children’s birthday party
When the kids enter the Madfun room they will be surrounded by light sound and activity and that can be a little bit overwhelming for shy kids when they first walk in. We pay special attention to ensure your children are comfortable and happy so we let them get involved in the party their own way.
If your child is shy it’s best to arrive 5 mins early or at least on time, so your child has few minutes to settle in before everyone joins in.
The big thing with shy kids is to let them become involved at their own pace and don’t push or try to make them join in. At Madfun Kids Discos we have free craft where your child can go off and make something and we also have free Face Painting (arm designs during Covid) included for every child so any shy kids can do lots of things without immediately going up on the dance floor.
Our party Hostesses are very sensitive to shy kids too and they have been taking care of kids for a long time so they will handle it so both you and your child can relax and have a good time.
Free Email Children’s Birthday Party Invitations included with Madfun Kids Party
We will email invitations to you, so all you have to do once you print them out is to write in your guest’s name.
Easy! If you’d like us to print them out for you it’s $10 for 15.
To make up your invitations we need the name and phone number of the parent or carer for the RSVP, the name and age of the birthday child and your email address. We’ll ask for all those details when you book. Always check the details are correct before printing and let us know if you need any changes made.

You can bring in adult food or we can provide hot or cold platters for the parents.
Catering for adults at your childrens party
You don’t need to bring extra food because we serve plenty of food for the kids and we would never have them be hungry or thirsty. We do not charge for adults at your Madfun kids party. You are welcome to invite adult realtions up to the equal number of paying children
Managing allergies at your kids party
If your child has allergies then by all means bring something that you know they can eat. Give us a call first because with at least a weeks notice we may be able to do something for you, so you can relax and enjoy the birthday party as well.
Vegetarian birthday party food
Vegetarian alternatives are available, but remember to let us know in advance.
We can usually provide a table for parents so you are welcome to bring in something for the adults.
If you do, keep it simple as the parties are designed to be fun and easy for you as well as the kids, or we can provide hot & cold platters for adults.
Please note we cannot cook or reheat any hot food that you wish to bring in. Fruit platters are welcome but no fruit on skewers please.

Madfun Disco is a Private Children’s Birthday Party Venue.
Our private family kid’s birthday parties are popular because it’s just like having a party at your own place.
Our party room is not a multi purpose hall, a dance studio or a kids play centre. You’ll sing happy birthday on a our special cake area complete with a fantastic backdrop for photos.
Madfun is a fully equipped private birthday party disco and you are the only ones there so your child and your group are the stars of the day.
That means you can invite adults and relatives to drop by or sit at the adult table provided whilst they enjoy unlimited free tea or coffee from our urn.
You can bring in food for the the parents or we can provide a range of adult platters from quality outside providers who we have used for years.
Our kids party venues at Knox and Moorabbin are a great birthday party idea because we do everything for you so it’s a fully catered kids party venue.
Madfun Kids Disco are a fantastic Private Children’s Birthday Party venue because at the end of the session you can go home with happy tired kids and put your feet up whilst we clean up the mess !

A: We require $100 deposit to secure your kids party booking, the balance can be paid on the Tuesday before the party day when you confirm your numbers, that way you can relax and enjoy the day.
We take Visa and MasterCard over the phone or Eftpos, Card and cash at the venue, or we can email you banking details if you prefer direct deposit.
A: Madfun runs on the weekends and on weekday evenings when all our neighbours are closed so there’s plenty of street parking. We do ask that you don’t park in driveways to allow children a safe walkway to the venue.
A:Yes, please include two to twelve years in your party numbers. Children come into the party room and want to enjoy all we have to offer, from food to games and face painting, and we just don’t have the heart to stop them from joining in. Please understand that the room is dark and overwhelming for little ones and mums will have to supervise them. Two years and up are charged full price.
A. If a child has allergies to certain foods we are happy to help. Because every child’s needs are different, you need to give us a call at least a week before the party and together we’ll see what we can do. You are welcome to bring in your own food if you prefer.
Our cocktail frankfurts, tomato sauce and plain crisp chips are gluten free. Our standard menu of party pies, sausage rolls, cocktail franks and fairy bread, chips and lollies are dairy and egg free. We make our fairy bread with a canola spread with a soy base instead of milk solids.
Vegetarian alternatives are available but again we require a weeks’ notice.
The Madfun menu is Nut Free but we can only suggest and cannot control what mum’s put in their birthday cakes and lolly bags.
Please Note that changes to our menu may incur an additional charge.
If your child requires an EpiPen a parent MUST stay throughout the party.
Like a fun and and easy Children’s Party
A: All you need to bring is the birthday cake. Bringing a washing basket to put your presents in is also a good idea. Please help keep Madfun Nut Free by not having any nuts in your birthday cake. Macaroons are made from almond meal so no macaroons please!
Please feel free to bring along lolly bags or we can provide them for your party for $4 per (100gm bag of mixed lollies, bubbles, a bouncy ball and a magnet)
Handy Hints: Cup Cakes are really popular at the moment.
Yes, we have a large freezer so please feel free to bring in an ice-cream cake.
We’ll store your cake in the kitchen and bring it out at that special moment complete with candles and sparklers. Then while we organise the children up on stage for you to take group photos, we’ll cut up the cake and serve it in our bowls to the kids and your party parents.
A: Yes,you do need to pay for the number you have confirmed unless you let us know by 5pm on the Thursday before your party. If they haven’t confirmed it’s best to assume that they’re not coming. We can always cater for an extra few on the day. We do understand that children get sick unexpectedly, but please understand that we lock in our staff and catering levels in advance.
No we don’t however you cannot have more adults than children because then it is a grown up party and we would need to talk about that
We can supply hot & cold platters for you at a cost, but they must be pre-ordered or if you would like to bring along your own platter for parents, please keep it simple as we often see party mums go to a lot of effort only to have to cart it all home again.
Please note that we cannot cook or re-heat any food that you may bring in. Madfun is a NUT FREE venue so no nuts please.
Parents are free to help themselves to the cordial and water throughout the party and all private parties are provided with a free tea and coffee station where parenst can help themselves. This is very popular with parents because they can have a chat with other parents whilst enjoying a free hot coffee or tea.
The great thing about running a kids disco is there is more than one group at the party so we only require a minimum number of 12 for our weekend parties and there is always a great party atmosphere. You have separate tables and food for your group regardless of the number of kids you bring so it will still be your special party surrounded in lots of action, music and dance. So just relax and enjoy your kids party.
Madfun Disco is a private childrens birthday party venue. We have two kids birthday party rooms in Melbourne at Knox and Moorabbin.
You will have the entire session to yourself including your own party hostess, DJ and you can play your own birthday pictures up on the big screen.
1.5 hour private bookings start at only $600 and includes catering and face painting for up to 20 children
2 hour private bookings start at $750 and includes catering and face painting for up to 20 children

A: The room is so dark small table decorations are just not seen. There’s no need to go to the trouble and expense as the tables are already really colourful and special, so it’s best to save your decorations for dinner that night at home where you can see and enjoy them.
*Any helium balloons must be weighted down as we simply cannot get them down from the ceiling if they become loose
*Pinatas are not permitted in the venue. Again this is something best enjoyed at home.
